Really just an excuse to get together with a group of friends who have been really, really supportive through the whole process and drink and eat and see people I haven’t seen for ages who say “I never knew you were doing this.” It is however the formal start of the long marketing process, with hopes the fifty or so people who do attend will buy and more importantly read the book and tell ten friends how wonderful it is, who then tell ten more, who then tell more, then the hard work has been worth it. BUT as a lot of fun was had writing Time To Take Flight, even if it does not sell well, I would have no hesitation repeating the process. Writing is amazingly therapeutic.
And of course there are numerous web sites telling me how to have the perfect book launch event. But when have I ever danced to someone elses drum…
